The Development Hub is an initiative or set of initiatives at VANEL in Grimsby.
It started in 2008 with with funding from ERDF (via Yorkshire Forward) which allowed VANEL to create the “Third Sector Hub”. That initiative created resources, an information knowledgebank, hosted events, delivered a wide range of training and managed smaller sub-projects – all with the intention of providing more, concentrated developmental support to those local VolCom organisations which were proactively seeking growth, evolution or expansion.
The funding ended early in 2010, but the Hub – now the Development Hub – has continue to create initiatives, run networks, deliver training, manage projects, share resources, lead and support local charities, social enterprises, voluntary and community organisations.
As well as providing support to member organisations of VANEL and to other local groups, the Hub also supports VANEL itself. The Hub provides IT and management support, project and event management and other organisational support to ensure that VANEL to continues to operate in a viable, effective manner.
We have a range of current projects which you might be able to make use of.
You can also look back at some of our older or completed projects and initiatives.
Most of our projects tend to have their own websites for their own audiences, so this vanelhub.org.uk website has now evolved to be a simple blog reporting on what the Hub is up to. Most other information about specifics will be on the relevant websites.
